Laminate flooring is a multi-layer, synthetic product fused together with a lamination process. Laminate flooring simulates wood with a photographic applique layer under a clear protective layer. Laminate has grown significantly in popularity due to its easy installation and maintenance in comparison with real wood. Another advantage is the cost. Some of the cheaper laminates can be around 80% cheaper and the top of the range laminates 50%..
In our experience, we would normally advise customers to purchase the best quality they can afford to avoid cheaper materials which ultimately give a false economy. Laminate durability is second to none and contains a scratch resistant layer with a 25 year wear guarantee. Here is a list of some of the brands we can supply:-

Seagrass flooring is made from dried leaves of the seagrass plant which grows in shallow waters across the world. The leaves are long and flat which is where the name seagrass has come from. Flooring products made from seagrass are backed with latex to keep the whole product natural which is why it is used a lot in eco friendly properties. Its available in a number of different pattern designs and only sold in its natural colour (greenish or golden brown), which can vary slightly depending on when it was harvested.
There is a paradox with pure sisal.. While it is luxuriously lustred and can be woven to have generous soft loops suitable for a film star's bedroom, the pure sisal fibre also has the strength to tie up a ship. The best pure sisal yarn starts life in the fronds of Agave sisalana grown in east Africa. The advantage with sisal is that it can be dyed to various colour such as creamy white, golds, greys, chocolate and even high tech black. The fineness of pure sisal fibre allows it to be spun in many different gauges yielding a great variety of exciting geometric textures. yet always with great strength.
No stranger to the floors of the late Queen Mother, coir matting is made by spinning the processed fibre's of the outer husk of coconut husk. Collection takes place in the romantic baked waters of Kerala State in the South of India, a region made famous by Arundhati Roy's acclaimed novel, "The God of Small Things". Richly textured because of its thicker fibre yarn, coir comes in either cocoa/cinnamon yarn or a buttery creamy yarn combination of both. Simple herringbone or ribbed weaves are most common. It is the simplicity of this product that allows it to be the textured stage for many an antique or oriental rug.
Another poplar natural carpet is Jute, it is obtained from the stalk of the corchorus plant and is very fine to touch. Jute carpets are mostly put to use in rooms which are not heavily used and generally for relaxed surroundings. Jute is also known as hessiam in Europe as it is one of the cheapest natural fibres. It is used for a large variety of things but its main use is as cloth for wrapping bales of raw cotton and course cloth. These plants are grown in southern India and regions of Asia. Jute is probably the most environmentally friendly fibre you can find as it can be recycled more than once.
